Training on Gender and Industrial Development in Bahrain

Today, the UNIDO Institute for Capacity Development and the UNIDO Office for Gender Equality and Empowerment opened the pilot course on gender and Industrial Development in the capital of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The course is organized in cooperation with the UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion Office (ITPO) / Arab International Center for Entrepreneurship & Investment (AICEI) and supported by the Government of Finland and the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa.

28 government officials and private sector representatives from 24 countries in Africa and the Arab region have gathered together to reflect on the terms under which women have been included in the industrialization process across regions, discuss ways in which industrialization directly affects women’s roles and participation in the labour force and economic life in general and learn tools to effective design policies and strategies to promote inclusive and sustainable industrial development.
