The programme seeks to promote sustainable industrial growth through capacity building to ensure informed and timely policymaking and to strengthen institutions/infrastructures that are part of the enabling environment for effective industrial development.
Professional Programmes consist of two courses (modules): a preliminary, online, distance-learning component and an in-residence part. The inclusion of an e-learning component allows both for a more careful selection of participants for the face to face part while enhancing the over-all impact of the training process.

Training on Gender and Industrial Development

The UNIDO Institute for Capacity Development and the UNIDO Office for Gender Equality and Empowerment organized the pilot course on gender and Industrial Development. 28 government officials and private sector representatives from 24 countries in Africa and the Arab region have gathered together to reflect on the terms under which women have been included in the industrialization process across regions and learn tools to effective design policies and strategies to promote inclusive and sustainable industrial development.

From October 2016 – May 2017 the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) conducted a series of training courses together with the Industrial Affairs Agency for employees from different Ministries and entities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

EQuIP: Enhancing the Quality of Industrial Policies

The 10-day programme, organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization in collaboration with the German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion Office (ITPO)/Arab International Center for Entrepreneurship & Investment (AICEI), gathered a well selected group of 22 public servants and industrial analysts from 21 developing countries. It supported policymakers to formulate and design evidence-based policy strategies for inclusive and sustainable industrial development.
