Executive programme for policymakers from Viet Nam

The UNIDO Institute for Capacity Development, in collaboration with the Industry Agency at the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) of Viet Nam, organized a two-day executive programme on evidence-based industrial policymaking titled “Enhancing the Quality of Industrial Policy”.

The programme, gathering over 20 high-level policymakers from different Ministries and Departments engaged in implementing Viet Nam’s industrial policy, conveyed some of the basic principles and outlined the benefits of evidence-based industrial policymaking. The underlying methodology, developed by UNIDO in cooperation with the German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation (GiZ), called EQuIP (Enhancing the Quality of Industrial Policy) provides a comprehensive toolkit including both quantitative as well as qualitative instruments to develop dynamic industrial policies and to support their effective implementation.

Training course on circular economy in Bahrain

3 – 7 December 2017 | Bahrain

A five-day training course on “Green industrial development – Pathways towards a circular economy” opened at the University of Bahrain today. It is being supported by the Supreme Council for the Environment of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (DERASAT) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization Investment and Technology Promotion Office in Bahrain.

Capacity building programme on sustainable energy solutions in Groningen

Groningen, the Netherlands | 15 November 2017

The UNIDO Institute for Capacity Development, in collaboration with the Energy Academy Europe (EAE) / New Energy Coalition today launched the second edition of its joint training programme on Sustainable Energy Solutions in Groningen, the Netherlands.

25 policymakers and ministerial officers from developing countries including Egypt, India, Mongolia, Nigeria, Tanzania and Ukraine, are attending the eight-day training programme, which aims to enhance their understanding of innovative energy solutions.

Training on Gender and Industrial Development in Bahrain

Today, the UNIDO Institute for Capacity Development and the UNIDO Office for Gender Equality and Empowerment opened the pilot course on gender and Industrial Development in the capital of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The course is organized in cooperation with the UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion Office (ITPO) / Arab International Center for Entrepreneurship & Investment (AICEI) and supported by the Government of Finland and the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa.

Training course on Green Industrial Development

3 – 7 December 2017 | Manama, Bahrain

The UNIDO Institute, in close cooperation with the UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion Office (ITPO) / Arab International Center for Entrepreneurship & Investment (AICEI) in Bahrain, with generous suppor by the Supreme Council for the Environment of Bahrain is organizing a training course on green industrial development for policymakers from Arab and African countries.

The 5-day intensive course offers a dynamic mix of lecture-based and participatory teaching methods. The course is targeted at mid- to high-level policymakers from Ministries of Industry, Economy and similar, from African and Arab countries. The number of participants for the training course is limited to 25 persons.

Seminars and group discussions will foster intense debates on case studies while peer reviews and unique exercises will increase participants’ skills and effectiveness in designing and implementing policies, strategies and projects related to sustainable industrial development.
